Und Du So...?!
It's finally here! The new Unduzo album!
Linda Jesse bumped into Unduzo two years ago, and since then, she puttered around on the new record. The goal was to capture their enormous range of musical ability on a CD. And in that, they succeeded:
„Und du so …?!“ ("And you also...?!") ask Linda Jesse, Cornelius Mack, Patrick Heil, Richard Leisegang, and Julian Knörzer. The group presents the album's music as openly as its title. No other vocal band in the German region is more diverse than Unduzo: pop, rock, disco, Latin-rhythms, and reggae-feeling culminate in powerfully eloquent stories. Five individual voices give into a bigger band with many instrumental features.
The five studied musicians, thereby, are outspoken. Whether they speculate to sing over Unten ohne ("Bottomless") or teach Bauchtänzer (belly dancers) the dance to Left Right Down, fun and contemplative tones are never absent: in Ferdinand, Unduzo criticizes the eco-establishment or narrates in Clown a love story between a clown and a tightrope dancer.
When the ensemble presented some of the Songs in July 2014 at the international a cappella competition Vokal total, they won two gold medals in the pop and comedy categories and unanimous praise for their own songs.
„Und du so?!“ - one must hear it!
Quickly establishing itself as a household name in the German a cappella scene, this young a cappella quintett presents its new programm “Halbkünstler” (“Semi-artist” or “Wannabe Artist”). Unduzo’s songs poke fun at the current eco-fad, simulate conversations at the Pearly Gates, follow the traces of a French love affair, and make sense of the half-baked thoughts and emotions of the singing protagonists themselves. Unduzo is a legitimate new force standing out in the busy German a cappella scene, with their mix of funny, solemn, silly, and serious songs.
