Moon is the debut album of the Berlin band. And already, it sets its standards: recorded innovatively and with attention to detail by the sound artist Sonja Harth in the legendary studios of East Berlin's Nalepastraße, the six voices of ONAIR pull us listeners into worlds of sound that we could only experience seldom until now. Voices that can merge effortlessly into a soft, warm choral sound but then throw us into a radiant, even furious fortissimo after a swift crescendo. To and fro, this roller coaster ride shakes us - highly energetic into the softest unison of sounds. And we love it. Because in every second, in every catch of breah, and in every gasp of the music, the large joy of playing and finess of the singers and arrangers of the group becomes palpable. The mixdown by the a cappella mastermind Bill Hare sets this wonderful scene. This class and the natural self-confidence of the players let the „Moon“ EP stand out from the majority of this genre's productions and even make less vocal-affine listeners want more.
ONAIR is extraordinary, surprising, and full of passion. Each singer of the group is a thrilling soloist; together, they are a vocally-energetic organism whose music finds its way directly into our hearts. Their beauty and perfection both please and dumbfound the audience, awakening in them a pure enthusiasm.Their repertoire (i.a. Björk, Radiohead, U2, Rage against the Machine, Sting, Massive Attack, Metallica) shows their high musical ambitions. Packed into complex arrangements and refined with a innovative sound design, they present vocal artistry that sets new benchmarks.
