Niniwe, the quartet from Berlin, brings 9 beautiful Christmas songs together on the album „Es wird scho glei dumpa“. The special sound has been developed and recorded in the Berlin Nicodemus church. All pieces were arranged by the group itself.
With the songs, we also make a litte trip around the world at the same time. It starts in Bulgaria with „Großer Baum du, mitten im Felde“, then „Der Morgenstern ist aufgedrungen“ from Michael Praetorius. By the next track, we find ourselves on the other side of the ocean with the song from the Appalachian Mountains „I wonder as I wander“. Shortly thereafter, we go to England with „Little town of Bethlehem“. With the enchanting song to which the CD lends its title, we lay over in the Alps. Shortly thereafter, we head to the Near East: from Croatia, „O pastiri, vierni cuvari" resounds. Then, we can listen in prayerfully to the two German pieces „Maria durch ein’ Dornwald ging“ and „Es ist ein Ros’ entsprungen“.
Lastly, the four women strike up the canon „Dona Nobis Pacem“.
A wonderful and suitable album for the Christmas season.
