War doch nicht so schwer
People are talking about the fact that modern German a cappella groups are no longer living off funny (or sometimes intense) texts or relying on imitating the Comedian Harmonists. Even the most critical observer can't fail to notice that there is now a larger emerging number of really talented German vocal groups (vocaldente, maybebop, Basta, füenf, Viva Voce...). In this sequence, the newcomers of Unduzo (a super name, congratulations!) are sure to advance if they continue their craft.
Here, there is true musicality, the humor wins one over through consistent embarrassment, and with Julian Knörzer, the young guns of Unduzo have an extraordinary musical, band-helpful beatboxer in their ranks. Moreover, I would not have believed before listening to "War doch nicht so schwer" that it would be a CD with a personal favorite song, "Marmelade am Sofa".
Quickly establishing itself as a household name in the German a cappella scene, this young a cappella quintett presents its new programm “Halbkünstler” (“Semi-artist” or “Wannabe Artist”). Unduzo’s songs poke fun at the current eco-fad, simulate conversations at the Pearly Gates, follow the traces of a French love affair, and make sense of the half-baked thoughts and emotions of the singing protagonists themselves. Unduzo is a legitimate new force standing out in the busy German a cappella scene, with their mix of funny, solemn, silly, and serious songs.
