When the weather gets colder, the days get shorter and you spend the evenings sitting in front of your fireplace, then Klangbezirk takes you to a funny and reflective winter journey across the realms of pop and jazz music. With their four voices, creating cosy warm sounds, they dispel the freezy cold by overlapping traditional christmas carols with jazz harmonics and combining familiar winter songs with lighthearted pop rythms. You can expierence the sounds of a funny sleigh ride or German christmas carols in a way, Miles Davis would have interpreted them. When the air smells of christmas cookies and brightly lit christmas trees decorate the living rooms, then, it is time for the Winterkuscheldeckensongs by Klangbezirk.
With playful ease and captivating voices and arrangements, combined with exuberant pleasure in singing together, the ensemble Klangbezirk is unique in the German a cappella landscape. They go on stage to touch people and take them on an expedition through worlds of emotion, both big and small, as well as their own tightly-interwoven musical microcosm. While guiding the listener through the concert experience with charm and wit, the four ensemble members share their joy and are happy to improvise songs requested by the audience as an encore.
Founded in 2006, Klangbezirk won the International A Cappella Competition Graz (Austria) in the first year together. This was not to be their only mark of success, as they have since proceeded to win some of the most renowned awards in the international vocal music scene. Concert tours have taken them to Sweden, Finland, Italy, Hungary, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and China.
Klangbezirk are four excellent soloists who have acquired and proven their skills during their music studies and their time in Peter Herbolzheimer's Bundesjugendjazzochester “BuJazzO” (Federal Youth Jazz Orchestra) as well as in many varied solo projects. They have come together to do what they love most: fuse their talents together into one sound, explore new musical worlds for themselves and their fans, and combine in unmistakable, multi-faceted arrangements a confidence of style with a perfect mixture of solo and ensemble singing. Original compositions and unique new interpretations of familiar pop songs and jazz standards become Klangbezirk´s playground, one with the direct and multi-faceted instrument of the human voice at the forefront.
